The campus of The Doon School in Dehradun has evolved steadily over the past century. Its buildings and open spaces reflect a long history of learning, daily routines, and traditions that continue to shape life at the school today.

Our work with the school focused on supporting this ongoing evolution while caring for the historic character of the campus. The process began with a close study of existing buildings and landscapes, documenting their condition and understanding how different spaces are used by students and faculty.

Working alongside the school’s engineering team the project involved conservation planning, repairs to historic fabric, and design for interventions within these heritage spaces. Each step was approached with the intention of strengthening the buildings while allowing the everyday life of the school to continue uninterrupted.

Rather than altering the identity of the campus, the effort was to work quietly with what already exists — ensuring that these familiar spaces remain resilient and useful for the generations of students who will come after.
