One of India’s premier educational institutions, the Doon School sought to adapt its historic classrooms to 21st-century teaching methods, which emphasize interactivity and student-centric learning. The rigid design of traditional classrooms posed challenges, and the project set out to create a pilot “smart classroom” that combined cutting-edge technology with sensitivity to the historic ambience. As principal consultants, the team developed the design concept, prepared interior layouts and working drawings, and supervised works to deliver a prototype space that balances heritage with innovation.
